WE’RE EASYGOING FOLK, BUT TO AVOID ANY WEIRD AND UNCOMFORTABLE CHATS LATER ON, BELOW ARE THE SIMPLE RULES WE FOLLOW AND HOPE YOU’LL GET ON BOARD WITH TOO:
OWNERSHIP RIGHTS AND USAGE
For brand and visual identity projects, the selected concept and final output is all yours to do as you wish. Licensed aspects such as typefaces, stock photography, or videography will need to be purchased/licensed by you (the client).
For brand and visual identity projects, we are happy to provide source files for flat designs (PSD, AI & IND), but any moving image content such as idents, motion graphics or video edits are limited to exported files only (.MOV & MP4). Campaign project files also remain the property of Mostly Harmless, unless otherwise stipulated in the deliverables list.
AMENDMENTS & FEEDBACK
We work as a standard two-round amendment rule. What do we mean by this? After we presented you with the first round of ideas (visual or literal) and a preferred concept has been selected, there are two more updates. After a feedback session, we will confirm, in writing, the changes you may wish to make. Only when you agree to these do we make changes/updates, protecting your time and ours. However, please note that all changes must be documented in a single written communication. We do not accept additions or alterations at a later date. Should this happen, it will be considered and made clear that this will count as an additional amendment.
That said, we've got plenty in the tank and are happy to keep going as long as you want to, but amends beyond the inclusive three rounds will be charged at an additional fee.
After a concept or amended design is presented, we kindly ask you to feedback within three working days. Late feedback on more than one occasion may result in delays to your project delivery and/or additional costs.
DELAYS, TIMEOUTS & CANCELLATIONS
Delays happen for any number of reasons; we get it. However, some reasons are more avoidable than others. Where there are reasonable grounds to delay a project's start, progress or completion, we’re happy to be patient. We will also do our best to be able to accommodate amended timelines, but, as a small business, this might not always be possible. Where we feel (and we’re reasonable guys), delays are avoidable, we may introduce additional charges to cover admin costs or, worst case, choose to cancel the project entirely. Please note, in the unlikely event of the latter, deposit payments are non-refundable.
Again, timeouts are ok, as long as we mutually agree to them. Being confused about what you need beyond agreeing to a scope and contract or a change of heart doesn’t amount to a valid timeout. Same rules as delays apply.
Cancellations (the word makes us shudder). In the unfortunate event you or us (Mostly Harmless) give notice to terminate/cancel a project each part must provide one working week's notice. Deposits are non-refundable and a further invoice may be issued to cover work up to the current stage.
Well, that felt heavy.
NO COMMUNICATIONS POLICY
We’re in the business of communications and being decent human beings. No one deserves to be ignored, ghosted, breadcrumbed or submarined (apparently, these all mean the chat just stops). We certainly won’t do this to you and would gratefully expect the same.
We reserve the right to call it a day if we don’t hear from you at any stage for seven consecutive calendar days or five business days. No refunds and no second chances. Again, we’re easy-going, decent folk - we never want to be in this position. Issues can always be resolved.
